- An OnlyFans creator and her husband made about $827,000 in revenue over three years.
- The creator, who calls herself “Mrs. Robinson,” doesn’t show her face in most of her content.
- Here’s how the couple built their platform, with the help of pay-per-view content and Reddit.
The wife and husband duo behind the “@Haute_for_Teacher” OnlyFans account were ahead of the curve when they signed up in September 2019. By the time the pandemic lockdowns started in 2020, and many new adult creators flooded OnlyFans, the couple had spent months figuring out the platform and strategizing around it.
In the three years since, they’ve made $827,308 on OnlyFans before the platform’s 20% cut, and taken home $661,919 of that. Insider confirmed their revenue with screenshots of the couple’s OnlyFans earnings statements.
Mrs. Robinson stars in all of account’s content. She uses Anne Bancroft’s character in “The Graduate” as an alias, though she said people typically call her by her handle because Mrs. Robinson is a popular name among OnlyFans creators.
Her husband Pete, who requested to be referred to by his first name for privacy reasons, manages the account, running the behind-the-scenes production and marketing.
The couple said they started on OnlyFans by posting a few pictures of Robinson with her back to the camera to see if they could make any money. Robinson said she was doubtful, but they ended up making around $150 after a few weeks.
They continued to post and evolve the page — uploading videos, occasionally as a couple, and later collaborating with other creators on the platform.
Robinson described her OnlyFans character as a “hot teacher.” She said the account is structured to cover up or crop Robinson’s face in most of the content, except for the pay-per-view messages they do once or twice a week and charge $15 to $25 for. This drives 60% of their OnlyFans income, they said. A standard subscription to their account costs $6 per month and makes up 30% of their income. The remaining 10% comes from tips.
The account has around 1,600 subscribers on OnlyFans, down from a peak of 2,700, the couple said. They currently have 1,100 fans who automatically renew their subscriptions for the next month through a “rebill” feature on the app. Pete said their fans usually subscribe for three to four months at a time.
You need a strong persona to succeed on OnlyFans without showing your face
It’s not easy to run a successful OnlyFans account without showing your face. Often, creators give up on that model over time, or choose to reveal their face to certain subscribers at a premium price.
Robinson and Pete said having a strong persona or character had helped them stay generally faceless on the platform, but they’ve made adjustments to their content as well.
“We use the whole teacher angle,” Pete said. “So they’re not really focused on the fact you don’t really see her face.”
Pete said he used to blur his wife’s face in their pay-per-view videos, but he wasn’t very good at it. He accidentally revealed her face one a video and saw a substantial jump in sales.
He then turned the “face slip,” as he called it, into part of their messaging strategy. Sales of their PPV doubled from 15 to 30 after they began advertising the face reveal. The couple eventually stopped blurring Robinson’s face in all the pay-per-view videos to make more money.
Pete mastered promoting on Reddit after a rough start on the platform
Pete is in charge of promoting the account and the pay-per-view messaging, which he said is “super common” among couples who create OnlyFans content together.
He uses Reddit, Twitter, and an Instagram-like platform called iChive to promote their OnlyFans. He said they’d been on Reddit since 2019 before there were a flood of OnlyFans accounts on the platform, which helped them build a following there. He estimated 60% to 70% of their subscribers come from Reddit.
He had trouble at first understanding the rules of the different subreddits, and said he’s been banned from a few as a result. But, now that he understands the platform, he posts daily in several subreddits, including in any of the “hot wife” or “amateur mom” categories. He uses the Postpone app to schedule posts.
“Before I started using that third-party system, I’d be posting while the coffee was going, so it was like 5:30, 6:00 in the morning,” Pete said. “For whatever reason that seems to be the best time of day as far as Reddit is concerned.”
They don’t plan to quit their 9-to-5 jobs for OnlyFans
While the two are grateful for their success on OnlyFans, they don’t plan to leave their day jobs. Both Robinson and Pete have full-time careers. They said they don’t think the adult-content creator industry is sustainable.
“So many porn careers, the average only lasts six months,” Pete said. “The average porn star only makes, I think, $40,000 in that timeframe. So I feel like we’re kind of on borrowed time, even though it’s been over three years.”
Robinson also said OnlyFans creators can’t take breaks or lose momentum because they risk losing money. She said they’d known creators who had to rebuild their entire platforms after taking breaks.
“If I broke my arm, for instance, I really can’t do porn with my arm broken and in a cast, and I have a family and bills,” Robinson said. “We do it, and it’s great money and it’s great extra income, but we know it’s not a forever thing.”
