International stocks trading in New York closed mostly higher on Friday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts rose 0.8% to 142.78. The European index increased 0.9% to 133.68, the Asian index rose 0.9% to 173.01, the Latin American index dropped 0.8% to 192.32, and the emerging markets index increased 0.5% to 293.87.

Deutsche Post AG and Carnival PLC were among the companies with ADRs that traded actively.
