  • Tipping is one way adult-content creators make money on OnlyFans.
  • Some creators will make tipping menus that offer options like custom content and video chatting.
  • Three OnlyFans stars shared their tip menus with Insider and explained how they use them.

Subscriptions are a key part of an OnlyFans creator’s income, but tipping, especially tied with messaging and custom content, is where some creators get fans to spend the most money throughout their pages.

OnlyFans creator Charlotte Lavish runs a free and a paid VIP page on OnlyFans, but said she makes more money from her free account because her fans message and tip her most there.

“I have some people that will just tip me to get me to talk to them first because whoever is tipping you goes to the top of your chat,” Lavish said.

Fans can “tip” creators directly through OnlyFans, on their profiles, wall posts, or in direct messages or livestreams, often in exchange for custom content or private messages. Some creators also run polls and fundraisers through the platform to earn tips.

To show fans what content they can buy, OnlyFans creators design their own tip menus with tools like Canva or Instagram stories. The menu options for what to buy or tip a creator for can be endless — some even include sections for fans to pay a creator’s bills or student loans.

For OnlyFans creator Kimmy Kalani, keeping her menu simple was key when she designed it on Canva.

“My main thing was to make it easy to read,” Kalani said, adding that she wanted it to match her different online channels. “My website is red, so I try to use red for a lot of my stuff in terms of like a tip menu or custom video menu.”

There are lots of resources for creating tip menus, but pricing them can be tricky for new creators, said Alanah Cole, an OnlyFans creator who also posts advice on YouTube for how to navigate OnlyFans. She said creators can figure out how much to charge by checking out their competition.

“I would subscribe to a couple of creators that you like and I would look at what they’re sending you — because they’re going to send you messages,” she said. “See how much they’re charging for those things. Look at their menus, look at what they’re doing and, and gather ideas.”

Three OnlyFans creators shared their tip menus with Insider. Here’s how they made them and incorporate them on their pages:
